Cobblestone Creek CC, previously named Greenacres Country Club, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
The golf course first opened for play in 1938. The course was designed by Devereaux Emmet. The "Parkland" style course showcases more than 150 horticultural species from all over the world and reflects meticulous keeping.
In 2017, the Club sold off about 15 of its 140 acres to national builder Lennar Homes, who will build 97 townhouses on land.
The idea of building housing on the golf course came about as the club began looking for new sources of funding to pay for the significant renovations it wanted to do.
It hired Bobby Weed, a well-known golf-course architect who specializes in redesigning and repurposing courses to make them viable for decades to come.
The Bobby Weed redesign opened for play in 2018. The new course is filled with intricate features, clusters of smaller bunkers, and rolling bent grass greens and surrounds. It’s a modern-day golf course within a traditional and mature setting.
Par for the course is 70. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,374 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,901 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 1, a par-5 that plays to 525 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 7, a par-3 that plays to 130 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 3, a 421-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Cobblestone Creek is # 11, a 158 yard par-3.
